Latest Developments–Smart EV Charging Station
The rider gets irritated if the battery gets down and he has no idea of the charging station. Now google is present with a solution for the rider problem. Recently Google announced a new feature that can search for a large number of battery charging stations available in that area and the best possible shortest route. The feature also shows the charging adaptor availability and waiting time.
This feature shall be available in Google’s Native Android Automotive system installed as their primary operating system. The most commonly used models in the present time are Polestar 2 and Volvo XC40. Following is the extract from Google official document-
“Now when you enter a destination that requires two or more recharge stops, algorithms in Maps will search and filter through tens to thousands of public charging stations to find the most efficient route — all in less than 10 seconds. You can see how long each charge will take and your updated total trip time, so your final ETA will never again be a mystery.”
Big names in EV sectors are Nissan, Mitsubishi, Jaguar, BMW, Tesla, Hyundai, Mahindra, Tata, etc. A standard called Combined Charging System (CSS) was famous in the US. Now the US is also using another standard for a quick charging system. The brand name is CHAdeMO.
Future of Smart EV Charging Station In India
The market of Electric Vehicles in India is growing very fast. Indian govt. is keenly taking interest and promoting it too. Delhi govt. is giving subsidy upto Rupees 1.5 lacs on two wheel and four wheel vehicles. As the EV is increasing, charging stations shall increase too.
Apart from Hyundai, Mahindra, Tata Motors, Tesla has also shown interest in starting manufacturing plant in India. This will definately increase the no, o charging stations.
Another reason for growing market of EV is rising price of petrol and diesel. Though initial cost of EV is more, subsidy over the vehicle is attracting the buyers. Govt. is also gets benefits in two ways. Firstly, it helps to maintain petroleum stock and secondly pollution is reduced.
The growing demand of electric vehicles shall increase the demand of Smart EV Charging station. AI system shall make the buyer more confident and userfriendly. Govt. are supporting both the manufacturers and buyers for the reason that both the petroleum consumption and environment pollution will decrease.
